Spoiler Alter is based on the best-selling memoir Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Other Four-Letter Words, written Michael Ausiello. It chronicles the 11-month time period between his partner Kit being told he had terminal cancer to his death. Flashbacks to the couple’s 14-year relationship, in all its ups and downs, are spread throughout.
Ausiello serves as executive producer, while Parsons, his husband Todd Spiewak and Alison Mo Massey produce under the That’s Wonderful Productions Banner. The company have previously worked on brilliant Netflix series Special, Miranda‘s America remake/spiritual successor Call Me Kat, and Big Bang spin-off Young Sheldon.

Parsons famously spoke about being thankful that he didn’t become a household name until he was a lot older, claiming that he doubts he would have been able to handle fame were he younger.
“I was 33 [when Big Bang debuted]. I still consider that as a real blessing for me that my trajectory happened the way it did,” he said. I mean, I wouldn’t have been able to handle it. I was a late bloomer in some ways. Not that I was ever irresponsible… I wasn’t a tragic case, but I wouldn’t have known how to compute all this kind of stuff at all.”
The Big Bang Theory aired on CBS in the US. You can buy the complete boxset now on DVD and Blu-ray.
